An aurora-chaser has revealed breathtaking pictures from a recent expedition to Iceland, where he witnessed three natural wonders in one amazing picture. Maciej Winiarczyk from Scotland travels to remote locations capturing the northern lights in stunning scenery. His latest quest to Iceland seen him get more than he ever imagined, as he photographed the Northern lights, the milky way and an erupting volcano - all caught on camera.

Vets feed a 3-week-old giraffe cub at the Royev Ruchey zoo in the suburbs of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia. The cubs mother, Princess, refused to nurse him and until now there has not been any successful cases of manual feeding of giraffe cubs, according to representatives of the zoo. The zoos employees have been consulting leading international experts daily with help in feeding the giraffe cub.

A man looks into a newly-built giant trash can, partially buried underground, next to a street in Taiyuan, Shanxi province. The trash can, which has a diameter of 1.9 metres and a depth of 2.8 metres, could contain approximately 10 cubic metres of garbage. It was built to replace an open-air garbage dump site, local media reported.

Visitors take photos of terracotta warrior figures displayed as part of the exhibition The Terracotta Daughters by French artist Prune Nourry, in Diego River-Anahuacalli museum in Mexico City. The exhibition, which runs until November 30 and was inspired by eight orphan Chinese girls, features 108 sculptures of girls based on the ancient Terracotta Army sculptures displayed at the Xian archaeological site in China. Nourry collaborated with Chinese craftsmen to learn the technique of sculpting the original terracotta warriors, which she then used to craft the figures in The Terracotta Daughters. The exhibition will be taken to China to be buried and unearthed again in 2030.
